In February this year I wrote a post about the Chicago-based eco fashion company Mountains of the Moon and its founder, Melissa Baswell.  Last week Mountains of the Moon was the ONLY GREEN BUSINESS out of the 2,000 participants to win the Intuit Small Business United Initiative Grant.  Baswell and her team will receive $5000 in cash plus $2500 in Intuit products to help support their growth.

Baswell has stuck to her mission through thick and thin.  She started MotM ten years ago with $200 and no permanent facility.  Since then she’s established herself as a leader in sustainable fashion. She’s even had the honor of showcasing one of her designs at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art.

Congratulations Melissa Baswell and Mountains of the Moon Staff.  It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving team!
