Danny SEO Certified Organic Perfume

It pays to Tweet–don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.  I follow @ecorazzi and a few weeks ago they announced that one of their lucky followers would win a bottle of Danny Seo perfume if they retweeted their message.  Even though I’d never tried (or heard of) this brand, I thought it was worth a shot– and what do you know?  I won.

Danny Seo is an environmental lifestyle expert, author and all around green guru.  He’s started an entire line of bath and beauty products based on certified organic ingredients now available on his online retail store, WHOLEARTH:

wholearth beauty + bath by Danny Seo is an organic, eco-friendly line of twelve products designed to inspire consumers to live a life of organic well-being in today’s world. With sustainable style and a vision for the future, the entire line is made using only natural and certified organic ingredients. wholearth products are naturally luxurious, USDA approved organic and packaged with 100% post consumer recycled (PCR) materials! What’s not to love?

These products are as pure as you can get.  But how good are they?  To be fair I’ve only tried the perfume in formula no. 10:

  • Top: Refreshingly Crisp Notes of Cassis, Bergamot and Davana, fruity mandarin and grapefruit
  • Mid: Fresh Floral Notes of Lavender ,Rose ,Peach, Ylang and Neroli
  • Dry: Rosemary, ginger and Patchouli

I will say that this is very possibly the only perfume I’ve ever owned where I can actually detect more than one dominant scent–and that I enjoy throughout the day.  It starts out a little bit brighter and fruitier than I usually prefer, but it mellows beautifully into soft, spicy notes that make me take one appreciative last sniff of my shirt before I toss it in the laundry basket.

Most importantly, there’s not sour or bitter smell as the scent wears on.  This is absolutely one of my pet peeves and why I’ve always favored essential oils over department store perfumes.  But essential oils (unless you are a master-mixer yourself) are unsophisticated.  Danny Seo’s perfumes, however, have a lasting quality and are hip, urban and sexy all at the same time.

What can I say?  I’m officially a fan.
